Gweru is the main city of the Midlands, on the road between Harare and Bulawayo and a natural place to break the journey. In town, the Zimbabwe Military Museum tells the story of the country’s army, police and aviation; south-west of the city lie the stone walls of Danangombe, once a Rozvi capital.
